Jan Caliman is a Guardian ad Litem (Family Law) and Adjunct professor at Lower Columbia College. Jan has an extensive background as a Chemical Dependency Professional and has worked with high-risk families for many years. She has also worked as a family therapist. She has a bachelor’s degree from Linfield College in Social and Behavioral Science and is also educated in Infant Mental Health.

 

Jan is the proud mother of two adult children, Roger Caliman, a nationally awarded percussionist and music educator, and Harmony Caliman, who lost her life to meningococcal disease. Jan is also a proud grandmother to Sophia Caliman.

 

Jan has been active in the community for many years. Her primary passion today is her involvement with the National Meningitis Association and serves as a National Advocate for the Prevention of Meningitis. To spread the word and educate others, she rides her bike near and far and advertises the message as she rides “Get Vaccinated Now!” Jan also rides her bike to fundraise for Mary Bridge Hospital Sexual Assault Treatment Program for Children. Jan has been on the board since 2011.
